Writing the Story...
Singing the Song

Maniwolf sings the song of the unspeakable beauty, sadness and fragility of our earthly existence.

In his short stories and poems, Maniwolf draws on our instincts, feelings and unconscious streams that we often fight instead of joyfully embracing them, learning from them. He sings of humans’ nomadic existence, the nomadic existence of our ancestors who roamed the lands in search of physical nourishment and the nomadic existence of women and men today who are in search of nourishment for their souls. He sings of the painful alienation of people who destroy their own clod in blind madness, and he sings of our timeless fantasies and dreams, of childhood memories, lost love and eternal yearning for fulfilment as we wander through time and space.

He sings the song of the speechless, neglected and oppressed creature, the song of animals and people who have no voice or whose voice we do not want to hear, the song of small children who cannot yet speak and who we therefore often treat like objects. He sings the song of girls and boys, who have not yet found their voice and whom we therefore do not take seriously, and the song of all those who are young at heart, who wear themselves out in the struggle with the omnipresent, voracious cancers of distress and greed, and who stagger through the world in search of love with pure souls, yet marked, dazed and bewildered.

For some readers, these stories may not seem encouraging, but rather sad and dreary. Behind them lies the insight and experience that confronting the darker sides of our existence may lead us to new joy of life.
